Have enjoyed making the recipes (very slowly!)。 I also like the look of the book on my kitchen shelf。

Donna,
After becoming engrossed in the HBO series Julia, I immediately borrowed Mastering the Art of French Cooking from my local library。 I was pleasantly surprised by how easily Julia’s recipes could be read as a book。 The introductions to this 40th Anniversary Edition provided much history and thought-provoking insight, as did the recipes themselves。 If you have a copy on your shelf, I highly recommend giving it a closer look。 There's great information inside。Although I haven’t made any recipes from After becoming engrossed in the HBO series Julia, I immediately borrowed Mastering the Art of French Cooking from my local library。 I was pleasantly surprised by how easily Julia’s recipes could be read as a book。 The introductions to this 40th Anniversary Edition provided much history and thought-provoking insight, as did the recipes themselves。 If you have a copy on your shelf, I highly recommend giving it a closer look。 There's great information inside。Although I haven’t made any recipes from this edition, my reading did inspire me to attempt Julia’s Sole Meunière (found in The Way to Cook )。 Although this dish was good, I didn’t quite have the intense reaction to it that others (including Julia Childs herself) seemed to have had。 Perhaps I didn't use enough butter! 😊 。。。more
Eli Goh,
I read the e-book and I couldn't believe how well written the recipes are - the recipes are carefully written as though the authors are physically present。 I can't wait to try out the recipes once I have my house up in 2 years' time。 For now, I am running to the bookstore to get the physical copy of this book! Carrie Edward,
Julia Child should and hopefully will go down in history as one of the most influential women on television (And comedy, but I'll get to that in a minute。) for her cooking show that made people everywhere feel connected to each other through this wonderful lady。 She had to deal with so many hardships just getting her tv show up, but when she did, she created some of the most delicious food ever。 In addition to making great food, she was hilarious when she cooked。 This book is great because it ha Julia Child should and hopefully will go down in history as one of the most influential women on television (And comedy, but I'll get to that in a minute。) for her cooking show that made people everywhere feel connected to each other through this wonderful lady。 She had to deal with so many hardships just getting her tv show up, but when she did, she created some of the most delicious food ever。 In addition to making great food, she was hilarious when she cooked。 This book is great because it has her humor and some great tips for cooking and baking! 。。。more
Jodi Tooke,
Thoroughly enjoyed the language。 The book continually builds on lessons learned earlier and encourages experimenting based on available ingredients。 Wonderfully organized and brilliant descriptions made reading this cookbook cover to cover fun。 And, of course, I tried many of the recipes as I went along!
Bev Manring,
I。 Definitely can’t review the master herself。 Only how I related。 I always aspired to be nearly as good。 Never stopped trying。 Don’t let it intimidate you just try to follow along。
Aanchal,
Loved this one wayyy tooo much ❤️
Eileen Easterly,
A classic that should be on every bookshelf。
Mulolo diese,
Very interesting book
Evie,
This is a lush and delicious cookbook。 It brings the richness of French food alive! You can't go past Julia Child for a classic recipe but her techniques are also easy to apply。 I have come back to this book multiple times in the last month alone, which tells you something about how much I rely on it。 This is a lush and delicious cookbook。 It brings the richness of French food alive! Mary H。 Garton,
The first cook book I bought in1965 or1966 and and still have, deliciously stained with wonderful memories and dog-earred from regular use。 (The second book was The Joy of Cooking - my library and tutorials were complete。)
Robin Tobin (On the back porch reading),
A grand classic。。。。
Tami Baker,
Nothing compares to this book。 So many wonderful recipes to try。 Though Julia tries her best to simplify the processes, some still feel a bit challenging。 I am determined。 P。S。 I loved the Julie and Julia book/movie, too!
Sophie,
This is a great cookbook which is still relevant for today!

I have a small collection of cook books and how could I resist this classic? It feels like a "must have" for anyone that loves cookbooks。 I have a small collection of cook books and how could I resist this classic? It feels like a "must have" for anyone that loves cookbooks。 。。。more

If you like cooking with lots and lots of butter, this book is for you。 The dishes can be complicated (not all), and they are tasty。 Admittedly I haven't made too many recipes from this cookbook set。 If you like cooking with lots and lots of butter, this book is for you。 The dishes can be complicated (not all), and they are tasty。 Admittedly I haven't made too many recipes from this cookbook set。 。。。more
Amanda Spears,
Obviously a classic because of its namesake。 "I am a servantless american cook" but Im also a butcherless American cook- I live in the midwest where butchers have been absorbed into grocery stores and arent their own skilled labourers。 This makes it tricky to replicate and execute certain recipes。 The recipes make you realize how much shopping and availability of cuts of meat or eating offal has changed in 60 years。 The cutting section, sauces and eggs section are very helpful at the beginning。 Obviously a classic because of its namesake。 "I am a servantless american cook" but Im also a butcherless American cook- I live in the midwest where butchers have been absorbed into grocery stores and arent their own skilled labourers。 This makes it tricky to replicate and execute certain recipes。 The recipes make you realize how much shopping and availability of cuts of meat or eating offal has changed in 60 years。 The cutting section, sauces and eggs section are very helpful at the beginning。 This is definitely worth having。 The desserts section was fascinating because most of the recipes had a lot less sugar than modern recipes。 There was about 4 cups TOTAL used in about 20 recipes。 。。。more

The best recipe book I have ever had! No competition for Julia Child :) Recipes are so precise and tested。 You can trust this book。
Fleur Steenbergen 小花,
My all-time favourite cookbook - back to the traditional techniques, love it!! Especially the artichoke with Hollandaise sauce recipe。。。。。
Sarah Evans,
Dustin gave me this book for my birthday a few years ago。 I haven’t been brave enough to cook many things (other than desserts) from it but I enjoyed reading it! Maybe I’ll venture back into it this year。
